Sport ancora acerbo, in tutti i sensi e soprattutto dal punto di vista fotografico, meno da quello del video dove ha già trovato una sua identità..

La fotografia sportiva vuol dire sicuramente capacità di cogliere l’attimo, ma anche capacità di esaltare il gesto ateltico.
In questo senso l’evoluzione della tecnologia ha aiutato moltissimo il fotografo sportivo a svolgere il proprio lavoro.
L’unica cosa che non è cambiata è la scelta del punto di ripresa. Qui si riesce a distinguere il fotografo che, magari sfruttando le potenzialità di nuovi sistemi di supporto, fa di una foto un’opera d’arte. Non sempre la scelta estrema ( magari rischiosa per se stessi o per l’attrezzatura!) risulta essere la migliore, molte volte basterebbero pochi cm.
La capacità di sfruttare la location cirscostante come “contorno” è un abilità del fotografo che aiuta a non rendere banale lo scatto.
In generale è bene avere già in testa, almeno a grandi linee, l’aspetto finale che dovrà avere la foto.
Da quest’idea nasce questa piccola rubrica che propone alcuni punti di vista alternativi.

Ecco la storia della foto:

” The set up for this photo was quite simple, really. All I did was strap my Nikon D200 to the riders chest protector with ZipTy’s and used a Pocket Wizard with the remote cable to fire the camera. I set the focus on the Nikkor 10.5mm Fisheye to the handlebars and used Gaffers Tape to secure the focus ring. I set the exposure to TV with the shutter speed set at 1/1000 and set the exposure compensation at minus 1.

Once I had the camera all set up, I just sent the riders out on the track and told them to stay as close to each other as they could. While they rode around, I fired the camera with a Pocket Wizard transmitter.
